We are taking a super last minute trip to Japan with our 6 month old daughter. We are planning on going to Tokyo for 4 nights, then Kyoto for 7 and then back to Tokyo for 5. We are planning on using both cities as bases for day trips. In Kyoto, we have booked the Ana Intercontinental for 6 nights and want to spend one night at a Ryokan.

We are planning on visiting Japan (Tokyo and Osaka) from mid to end June! From my research, i have been informed that it is the monsoon season with heavy rainfall! We are both students and this trip will cost us alot of money so would appreciate some advice whether it will be worth going?

Personally I would still go because Japan is one of my favorite places… but it is up to you if you want to take the chance that it would rain for the majority of weeks you are there. It was super humid and scorching hot when I was there last year mid July to mid August. Having said this, weather can be very unreliable and you can not predict what it will be like anywhere you travel, so I say go for it!

It actually is not that bad to navigate through Tokyo. I would not drive there, it would take you forever to get anywhere… take the subway – the subway map look like a nightmare, but after a few times on it you are good to go!
