Vote for The Traveller’s New Banner!

Travel Tips - Ross French - January 19, 2011

As many of you have seen, I changed the theme of The Traveller. The old one had lots of back end issues and this one is more SEO friendly. I need to fix it up and one of the first steps towards doing that is a new banner. And as per request by Bacon is Magic, I have spent a few hours in paint and accumulated these works of art. Although they aren’t as awesome as my paint essays, I can’t decide which one of the banners below is the one. So I’ve decided to let YOU choose for me. VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! Just write a comment below telling me which banner and slogan you like the most. I can switch up the slogans with the different backgrounds because I’m so f%^&ing talented.

Yes mom. Yes Dad. This is what 4 years of University level fine arts training has got me.

Based on my exteeeeensive experience marketing websites*, I think “Questionable Travel Advice” is a funny catchphrase and useful tagline. The picture (an obviously-done-in-MS-paint self-portrait) is funny too. I also like the tequila one because it’s almost alliterative!

*this is a lie, I have no experience marketing websites.

Yup, I’m with the masses – banner 3 for sure, with either that tagline or the one about tequila.

    Cox, y’know, tequila = awesome.

I like them all! But I think the tagline needs some form of alcohol involved… that’s what traveling is all about right?

#3.. .but.. the word awesomesauce kinda leans me to #4. But.. the artwork in #3 is pure Picasso.

Ditto: #3 is perfect: colorful, droll, eye-catchy, and that “Questionable…” tag line is pure genius!

    # 3 as is….or #3 with the wording from #2? They’re all cool for different reasons, of course.

    Great job!

I gotta agree with Jeremy. Awesomesauce is awesomesauce! 😉 Cuz really what is awesome sauce?? It can be SO many things. Don’t just limit yourself to tequila or beer! 😉 Go with the power of awesomesauce!

As for the image. #3 is great. But I also love green! Maybe #3 with some green background and some awesomesauce…. or something like that… yeah…. =)

Banner 2 and 3 look good as the lettering all stand out well. And I’m with Ayngelina on wanting/ demanding more colour on this site.
I post a lot of photos on my site, and I feel they throw out more colour on the dark brownish background I use. I have another site, very light background, and post the same photo up and it’s lost. Just a photo. But the same photo on my “Holes’ site just looks so much better.

Jesus, you can hear Ayngelina’s whip all the way in Delhi. COLOR. NOW. 🙂

Yeah, so, #3 rocks and goes well with your taggy line. I like the drawing of the gal, not so sure about the background color. It sorta reminds me of tie-dye.
