Travel Tips - Eric Anderson - December 2, 2017

Located amidst the North Atlantic Ocean, the British island territory of Bermuda is a magical place to spend the ultimate seaside vacation. The beaches of this island are simply breathtaking with its beautiful sand, gorgeous looking clear blue waters and fun activities. With its distinctive mix of British and American culture, historic museums and jaw-dropping landscapes, Bermuda vacations are perfect to have a relaxing yet fun-filled time with your family and friends. There are a lot of things for you to check out during your Bermuda vacations, and there are the top four things which you must do when you visit this beautiful island.

1. Witness the Pink Sand Beaches

One of the main reasons for which Bermuda vacations are famous worldwide is the opportunity of seeing one of nature’s unique landscapes, the pink beaches. You cannot visit Bermuda and not get awed by this unique sight. The beautiful color of the sand compliments the crystal clear blue waters of the ocean really well and makes relaxing on these Bermuda beaches one of the most memorable moments of your Bermuda holidays. The Horseshoe Bay Beach is probably the most popular beach on this entire island. The unique rock formations, the calm waters and off course, the beautiful sand make a trip to this beach a must to activity when you travel to Bermuda.

2. Explore the British Forts

The island of Bermuda is dotted with a number of historic British forts throughout. Exploring these historic forts is another activity which you must indulge in during your Bermuda vacations. Many of these forts were built in the 17th century, and thus has a lot of history associated with them. However, the most popular and beautiful among them is probably Fort Scaur. Located at the western end of the island, this Fort allows you to take a look through the history, and also experience some incredible vistas of the ocean from the top.

3. Try Cliff Jumping

The coastline of Bermuda boasts some of the most beautiful rock formations, and jumping into the ocean atop those rocks is a really popular and fun way to spend time on the island. You can find many cliffs or even bridges from where you can try cliff jumping. However, the favorite spot among the locals to cliff jump is from the cliff above Clarence Cove, situated at the Admiralty House Park.

4. Hike the Bermuda Railway Trail

Almost 40 years after the closure of Bermuda Railway, the way was transformed into a hiking/walking trail by the Government in 1984. 18 miles of this originally 22 miles long trail is perfectly accessible, and the incredible views of Bermuda that you get to see while hiking this trail is totally an unparalleled experience. The trail stretches from one end of Bermuda to another, and you can walk, bike or even roller-blade through the stretch. You can also go for a photo tour along the trail. This trail is so unique and picturesque, that is truly one of the must-do activity for any Bermuda vacations.
